YOUR VIRGINITY:Is it worth the wait?!

For women especially, virginity has become the easy answer. The morality quick fix. You can be vapid, stupid and unethical, but so long as you have never had sex, you are a “good” (moral) girl and therefore worthy of praise.

Virginity is the state of a person who has never engaged in sexual intercourse.

There are many cultural and religious beliefs regarding the issue of virginity in Nigeria which is no longer prevailing as it used to be in the early 80’s and 90’s.

From the definition of virginity, it can be deduced that a virgin is a person who has never been involved in any form of sexual intercourse be it vagina-penis sex, anal sex, oral sex etc.

YOUR VIRGINITY: Is it worth the wait?!

From this definition of mine, if 30% of Nigerian youths presume themselves as virgins, now the data should be around 10-15%.

This brings me to an encounter with a girl who told me she was a virgin and has a boyfriend whose age is 22. I asked her how she manages to satisfy his sexual needs in a changing world and she said:

“If he feels horny,I would strip and he penetrates through my lap or I would give him a blow job”.

So this really got to me and the question here is “is she really a virgin“?.

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE HAVE TO SAY ABOUT YOUR VIRGINITY ?

YOUR VIRGINITY: Is it worth the wait?!

1cor 7:8-9:

“The unmarried and the widows, I say that it is good for them to remain single as I am.

But if they cannot exercise self – control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion”.

1cor 7:8-9

The above text was not from me but from the Bible which I believe most Christians claim to obey. It is better to marry than to burn with passion.

The question now is how old were you when you felt this burning desire to dishonor your body and how quickly can you find a soulmate.

What happens when you lose your virginity?

The first time you have sex, it may hurt, or feel good or both. A reasonable amount of people feel bitter after pre-marital sex, some become sober and find themselves in the curch promising God never to do it again but find themselves doing it more than a dozen times before the week runs out.

Funny right, this is because to most people sex is meant for pleasure and they do it at will whenever they get that itchy tiny feeling.

Losing your virginity the wrong way definitely impacts so many negative thoughts in the mind of the victim or participants. A few lose their self worth and feel empty while some take it as an opportunity to try it out with many other sex craving dogs.

From an interaction with a few, some regret this loss truly, some would ask you “who virginity help?“, but at the end of the day, it all boils down to the personality of the doer.
